Montana Wilderness Retreat – Sept 18-21, 2025

Each year our Bozeman Journeyman Circle hosts brothers from around the country on their home range. It’s a chance to see this land from the men who know it best and absolutely love to share it. Co-led by Montana Native Dan Newhall and the Montana Journeymen Community.

Step into the serene, expansive landscapes of Montana with our Bozeman Journeymen circle for a three-night retreat that promises reconnection, renewal, and insight. Set amidst the rugged beauty of Montana's wilderness, this retreat invites you to experience nature's quiet magic through meditation, wilderness awareness practices, and guided ecological explorations.

Join us this September for a transformative three-day men’s retreat in Montana’s breathtaking Paradise Valley, just south of Livingston. Surrounded by the towering Absaroka and Gallatin mountain ranges, this immersive wilderness experience is designed to foster deep connection—with the land, with each other, and with your own inner landscape. After arriving in Bozeman on September 18th and spending the night in town, we’ll venture into the valley for three days of camping under expansive skies. Our time will be filled with guided hikes to alpine lakes like Pine Creek Lake, a pristine 31-acre gem nestled in a glacial basin at over 9,000 feet elevation . Evenings will be spent around the campfire, sharing stories and forging bonds of brotherhood.  

Fly fishing will be a central part of the retreat, offering both challenge and serenity. Participants will have the opportunity to fish the renowned spring creeks of Paradise Valley, such as DePuy’s and Armstrong’s, known for their crystal-clear waters and abundant trout populations . Whether you’re an experienced angler or new to the sport, these waters provide a perfect setting to connect with nature and fellow participants. Transportation to and from the retreat site will be provided, ensuring a seamless experience. As we unplug from daily distractions and immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of Montana, this retreat promises not just adventure, but a chance to reconnect—with the land, with each other, and with ourselves.
