WESTERN CIRCLE
OCTOBER 1-4, 2026 - Sonoma County, California
Our Inagural West Coast Gathering. Join us in conversation, in community, to reclaim our sense of agency in times of unprecedented change.
Join The Journeymen for our first Relational Retreat on the West Coast in Sonoma County, California. In this three-day experience, we will explore the emerging future and deepen our capacity to be with unprecedented change, both individually and collectively. We will gather on a secluded 40-acre wooded property in the foothills of Lake Sonoma, amongst the majestic oaks and sprawling vineyards of Northern Sonoma County.
We are living through a “Great Acceleration.” As AI and economic shifts replace the thick ties of community with thin digital substitutes, the path to best serve in our families and neighborhoods has become increasingly obscured. From October 1–4, 2026, we will gather as fathers, brothers, sons, and stewards on a private 40-acre property in the Healdsburg mountains to move beyond the noise. The gathering is designed for men seeking to reclaim agency, determination, and connection in a world where the old maps may no longer apply.
This experience places us in direct conversation with guest speakers and peers who are helping to shape these times—leaders from organizations now entering the daily vernacular, from the startup and venture worlds, health and wellbeing, policy, and with equal weight the lineages of woodland skills, dharma and natural ecology. Together, we will bridge gaps between technological and geopolitical shifts and the essential human capacities required to navigate them. We don’t arrive with a script, but with a shared spirit of inquiry—an opportunity to sit on the same ground, ask better questions, and draw from the perspective of those at the forefront of change. This process of collectively guided, open inquiry is meant to help us individually and together find footing and community in a rapidly emerging future.
FOCUS: The curriculum intersperses strategic workshops with intensive experiential learning designed to ground the weekend’s insights:
Softening our Edges: Technology, Health, and Human Futures
Sitting in extended, grounded conversation with people deeply embedded in emerging fields of technology, health, and social innovation. These sessions will move beyond hype and fear to explore how AI, biotechnology, mental health, and digital culture are reshaping identity, labor, intimacy, and power. The emphasis is not on prediction, but on discernment—cultivating the human judgment, ethics, and relational depth needed to live wisely inside accelerating systems.
Reclaiming Our Attention
Developing acute situational awareness through wildlife tracking and navigation across the land’s rugged terrain. The Northern California scrub oak forests are ancient places and provide an ideal ecology for reclaiming attention. Working with experienced guides and trackers, we will learn to observe life—and to work with it.
Grounding and Fortitude
Recalibrating the nervous system through embodied practice, collective work, and deep listening, while learning to meet the unknown—the very conditions that often generate fear and dysregulation.
We believe this gathering will be deeply impactful for the community that forms here. By moving through this process together, we aim to cultivate the clarity, resilience, and relational intelligence needed for the times we are entering.
ACCOMMODATIONS: The property has a variety of accommodations that include private cabins, canvas platform tents, shared rooms, shared yurt space and outdoor camping sites for those who prefer to be under the stars but in short distance to common areas of dining, showers, and fire pits.
